Materials
50 pieces of copy paper
2 cardboard squares (5.75"x9")
8.5"x11" (at least) drawing or paint paper (outside covers)
8.75"x5.5" drawing or paint paper (inside covers)
2"x11" paint or drawing paper (outside bind cover)
yarn needle
tough string or twine 3-4'
hole punch
Elmer's glue
hot glue
I like to prepare all the supplies needed into paper bags to give to students when they're ready to make their books.
Steps:
Step 1
Decorate the outside covers, inside covers, and the binding strip. Decorate the full sheets, some areas will show but some will be hidden. I would advise that if you are going to use words keep them in the middle of the page of the outside covers.
Step 2
Attach the outside covers to the cardboard. Do this with both covers.
Step 3
Binding your pages.
You need 50 pieces of copy paper, separated in 5 stacks of 10 pages. You will need a hole punch, a piece of string 3-4 feet, and a plastic needle.
Step 4
Attaching the covers to the pages and attaching the inside covers
Glue and brush needed
Step 5
Binding Strip. You need hot glue.
