Coil Weaving
Coil weaving is wrapping string around a thicker rope/string and sewing it together as you add to your structure. You can make a variety of things, such as a basket, purse, tote, bag, or a hanging textile (fabric) art piece.
Materials:
rope
yarn
scissors
needle
tape (optional)

Steps:
1. Wrap the end of your rope about a thumbs length.
2. Fold the wrapped part in half and wrap the two ropes together.
3. Continue wrapping and sewing your structure together.
Assignment:
1. Complete a work of art using the coil weaving technique.
